Brian J Rosecrance, Executive Director
Brian has worked for IHN since its beginning. Working with the Board of Directors, he helped organize the funding base and network of services prior to opening the doors to homeless families. Prior to his employment with IHN he was the Executive Director for another regional not for profit, Appalachia Service Project, Inc. A resident of Michigan, he graduated from Western Michigan University in 1981 with an MSW. Prior to that he served 6 years in the U.S. Navy and did community organizing work in low-income neighborhoods. Brian, his wife Cathie and sons moved to Johnson City in 1981. In addition to his sons, Brian & Cathie have an adopted daughter and foster daughter now grown. They enjoy mission work and spending as much time as possible with their two granddaughters.
Melissa Davis, Case Manager
Melissa is the case manager for the shelter families, helping the families toward their housing, employment and other goals. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker, who received her Masters degree in social work from East Tennessee State University in the spring of 2010. Melissa is from South Carolina and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Clemson University (Go Tigers!). She has experience as an intern working with low-income families through the Families First program, with veterans at the Quillen VA Medical Center, and with people with severe and persistent mental illness. Melissa also has a great deal of volunteer experience and enjoys her work advocating at the state level with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She is very excited to be working with the wonderful staff, board members, and volunteers at IHN of Johnson City.
Aaron Scott, Development Manager
Aaron joined IHNJC in October 2011. A 2004 graduate of Milligan College with a BA in History, Aaron taught middle and high school history and Bible in public and private schools after college. Aaron also worked with Reba Place Development Corporation (RPDC), an affordable housing ministry connected to his church while living in Illinois. This experience led to a passion for faith based community development ministry. He is excited to join the committed staff and many volunteers at IHNJC. Aaron’s tasks include community outreach, volunteer recruitment and training, and supervision of the Family Resource Center office. He and his wife, Grete, and their son Isaiah attend Hopwood Christian Church and enjoy living in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee. A native of northeast Ohio, Aaron is an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He and Brian manage to get along despite the fact that Brian roots for “that team up north.”
Lynn Moore, Case Manager
Lynn is the case manager for IHN’s Families Moving Home Program. She works with families facing additional difficulties and challenges in obtaining and remaining in permanent housing. Lynn provides support services for these families as they locate permanent housing and work to increase their skills, income, and personal level of self-determination needed to become independent and self-sufficient. Prior to joining the staff, Lynn did mission and outreach work in the United States, Canada, England, France, Spain, and Africa with Youth with a Mission. She is a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a retired broadcast engineer. Most recently, Lynn has worked as a volunteer for Caris Hospice Service, the Johnson City Downtown Day Center, and the IHN Day Center. She also performed as a social work intern at IHN during the summer of 2011. Lynn graduated from ETSU in August of 2011 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She plans to continue her education on a part-time base to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work beginning in the summer of 2012. Lynn grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and Grand Junction, Colorado and spent a good deal of her adult life traveling around the country and the world. Lynn now lives in Unicoi, Tennessee where she and her husband, Mike, have resided since 1983.
